Steve Prather, MD, is a Life Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and has served as a member of the Medical Advisory Panel for the Pew Health Profession Commission at Duke University. He has been the president and CEO of a Medical Quality Improvement consulting company for the past 20 years. During that time his company was named the national business partner of the year for the Volunteer Hospitals of America. He was their Medical Director for a national improvement and education network supporting simultaneous clinical improvements in hundreds of hospitals. The author of two complementary books, Behavioral Types and the Art of Patient Management, and The New Health Partners, Dr. Prather began to see that a new era of employee and family advocacy for health was needed to decrease the demand for unnecessary care. In 2013 he founded the Wellness Policy Network to organize and support an interconnected community of grass root efforts committed to decreasing preventable medical and mental health conditions. His primary goal is to impact those ready to guide a cultural evolution toward new, visible, and positive behavioral change throughout individual communities. Steve’s work is deeply integrally informed.
Steve is a member of the board of trustees of SLCN and steward of the Wellness Policy Network.
